Sefton Park Conservation Area, L17

Project:Victorian Residential Conversion
Client:Opus Trading Ltd.
Contract Sum:£Private

The project involved the complex reinstatement, refurbishment and extensions to a large Victorian Villa style property located within the Sefton Park conservation area, known locally as ‘Mountford Lodge’. The original plot consisted of four linked back-to-back double fronted Victorian Villas, which had previously been used as a residential home for the elderly. Significant demolition and sub-division works were undertaken during the first phase of the works in order to break up the plot for residential use. The second phase involved the sub-division, conversion and extension works to one of the double fronted Villas providing two residential properties for private occupation. A basement and loft conversion was necessary along with internal mezzanine floors to maximise the usable internal space. The reinstatement of the original entrance and entrance features to the property was successfully achieved and commended by the local authority conservation department.
